AMVCA11 was a fashion blast!
I might not be the most patriotic Nigerian in terms of Nigerian movies, but in terms of fashion, Nigerian fashion designers constantly blow my mind. Even with the constant corsets and forced silhouette figures every design continually bears, one cannot deny the creativity infused to create a masterpiece look.
This year, on the AMVCA red carpet, the women were absolutely on theme if it was about nature. They were like fire, ice, and water in different outfits. These outfits were tailored to suit the theme without necessarily being a costume or a bogus piece. Stylists and fashion designers were really on point.
In this article, we will be reviewing the creative and innovative designs that referenced nature during AMVCA2025. These are jaw-dropping designs that explore the theme and perfectly mimic the concept of the outfit.
Osas Ighodaro
This dress was one of the major highlights of the AMVCA2025 Awards Night. The visual representation of the vegetation, plants, and shrubs is so surreal. The green vegetation was marked out by beautiful embroidery and stonework that accentuates the beauty. The greenish part of the dress was made from towels, which sparks a high sense of creativity.
A closer look at the details of the dress, it appears like you are looking at the aerial visuals of Nigeria’s vegetation. The dried shrub featured at the back of the dress, giving a hm-like design that pops out against the skin colour of Osas and adding subtle drama to the look.
Doyin in Mmadi Couture
This look reminds me of MCU’s Groot or branches swallowing a person up. This is how the representation is so vivid. The detailing of the dress is phenomenal. The designer was so akin to it that she allowed for the leaves’ designs to pop out of the roots wrapped around the green tree. This is one of the most nature-referenced look at the AMVCA2025 Awards’ Night.
Jenni Frank
Bed of roses- Jenni is embodying a bed of pink roses, and she is embodying it well. The shrubs of rose are placed at the torso, which goes down with the drape of the dress. This look gives a soft and subtle reference to the gentleness of nature and yet its beauty.
Adebimpe Adedimeji
What is this dress representing? An orchid flower in all its beauty. From the embellishment on the dress fabric to the extra 3D cape designs it bears, everything looks ethereal in this look. It references the beautiful orchid flower with a great visual representation.

The sparkles and glistening the blue bears might be misrepresented as ice. I think if this look is called where the sun melts the ice, it might make more sense. Kiekie is a fashion goddess, and her looks are nothing short of phenomenal. Her dress for the AMVCA 2025 awards night was truly one only a genius if innovative design can come up with. Her look embodies the ocean’s waves, with a spice of iciness. Her fashion team did a good job in creating the wave look in a pleated and ruffled look with such shape and grit.
Mercy Eke
What a dreamy look for the AMVCA2025! I cannot fathom how the embellishment of the crystals came to be. The tailoring of the dress is very unclear to me. This is what a very creative look causes. You start to wonder how the look was put together. The maker of this dress has to walk us through the process because this is incomprehensible!
