The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has removed 247 entities from its records after uncovering that they were never legally incorporated.
The CAC disclosed this in a public notice on August 15, 2025, warning that these companies have no legal status. This means any business transactions with them are not protected under Nigerian law.
According to the Commission, the so-called companies were operating with false Registered Certificate (RC) numbers that were never issued by the CAC.
“Consequently, the names and the RC numbers have been removed from the database,” the CAC stated in the public notice.
The affected entities cut across various industries, with names such as Dwell Space Limited, Vourla Petroleum/Gas Limited, Rychado Global Malls Limited, and Lamonde Nigeria Limited. Many of the fake incorporation dates trace back to the 1990s, showing how long some had been posing as registered companies.
