President Muhammadu Buhari, has sworn-in six new Permanent Secretaries, before presiding over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Council Chamber of State House in Abuja.

The new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service who took the oaths of office on Wednesday were, Mahmud Kambari (Borno State), Nko Esuabana (Cross River), Adamu Lamuwa (Gombe), Yakubu Kofar-mata (Kano), Olufemi Oloruntola (Ogun) and Richard Pheelangwah from Taraba State.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina, Buhari had sworn in 92 Federal permanent secretaries since he assumed office on May 29, 2015.

According to Adesina, the six new Permanent Secretaries have fulfilled the conditions after a selection exercise recently conducted for directors.

He added that the event marked the culmination of a weeks-long prequalification exercise for directors by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Adesina further stated that the exercise involved competency tests and interactions with a wide range of stakeholders.

Recall that on March 29, 2023, the Head of Civil of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, disclosed that President Buhari approved the appointment of the six permanent secretaries having passed their selection process tests.
