Nigerian recording artiste, Burna boy whose real name is Damini Ogulu has hinted at his retirement from the music industry.

The 32-year-old said a mouthwatering contract recently offered to him is making him contemplate going on sabbatical like billionaire Barbadian-American singer, Rihanna.

Burna Boy said the massive contract must be a test of his love for music.

On his Instagram story on Sunday, he wrote “With the numbers I’m seeing on this contract, these next years of my life are about to really show if I really love doing music.

“God must really want to test my love for music. I just might bounce on y’all like Rihanna.”

The Nigerian singer-songwriter has been described as one of the best exports to emerge from the Nigerian music industry. He released his debut studio, L.I.F.E (Leaving an Impact For Eternity) in 2012, he has since gone on to release six more studio albums.

He won a Grammy award for his 2020 effort and fourth studio album, Twice As Tall in 2021.

His newest project is I Told Them… which was released in August 2023.
