Ms. Bolaji Agbede has been appointed as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc following the passing of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer.
The company notified the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Monday night, stating that Ms. Agbede’s appointment is pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Prior to this role, she served as the company’s most senior founding Executive Director in charge of Business Support, having joined Access Bank in 2003 and accumulated almost three decades of experience in banking and business consultancy services.

“Further to its announcement dated February 11, 2024, the Board of Directors of Access Holdings Plc (‘the Company’) has today announced the appointment of Ms Bolaji Agbede as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of the Company following the unfortunate demise of its former Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Herbert Wigwe, on February 9, 2024.
“The appointment is subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria,” the statement reads in part.
