Abdullahi Biffo comes with a wealth of experience having managed teams in the NPFL and winning the NNL twice.
Sporting Lagos Football Club have announced former Kwara United gaffer Abdullahi Biffo as the club’s new Head Coach.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side announced the appointment Friday, just a day after parting ways with Paul Offor.
According to a club statement released on their official website, Sporting Lagos stated “Biffo’s attacking and possession-based football” attracted them.

CLUB STATEMENT
“Biffo’s attacking and possession-based football saw him secure continental football for Kwara United with a 3rd-place finish in 2021. He’s also a six-time winner of the State FA Cup, most recently, twice with Katsina United in 2018 and 2019, and with Kwara United in 2021.
“His experience as a manager has also seen him coach Abia Warriors and Niger Tornadoes in the NPFL. Biffo has led two top-flight promotions, winning the NNL with Niger Tornadoes and Giwa FC in the process. He was also the first-ever coach of FC Dender — today known as Remo Stars.
“He spent the last two years training coaches and developing youth in football academies in the United States.”
Undoubtedly, Abdullahi Biffo is a household name in the NPFL. His coaching experience spans over a decade having previously managed teams like Kwara United, Abia Warriors, and Niger Tornadoes.

On his new adventure, Biffo said: “I’m very proud to be the head coach at this great Club. I’ve been following Sporting Lagos for a while [I used to attend the games at Teslim], and I love everything the Club is doing.
“I didn’t think I would ever return to coaching in Nigeria but this passion the owner of the Club has shown is very convincing. It is obvious this is a long-term project with big plans and I’m happy to be a part of it.
“The Club has really quality players, some of whom I’ve worked with before, and I’m looking forward to continuing the work of making this a club Lagos is proud of.
“I can’t wait to be in front of the fans I’ve heard so much about and make them proud.”
Speaking on Biffo’s acquisition, Sporting Lagos chairman Godwin Enakhena said: “Biffo brings a wealth of experience to Sporting Lagos and we’re happy to round up the season with him. We will keep playing the attacking brand of football Lagos is proud of and we’re excited about what the future holds for Sporting.”
Coach Biffo’s first test is an NPFL game against his former side Katsina United.
