Eight hundred homes in the Etomi community of Etung Local Government Area, Cross River State, are set to benefit from a mini-grid solar power project funded by the European Union (EU).

The State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Eka Williams, revealed this during a site visit to assess the project’s progress.

Williams announced that the project, a 196-kilowatt-hour (kWh) Jinko powerhouse mini-grid solar farm with a capacity of 119 kilowatts (kW), is now fully operational and ready to provide power to the Etomi community.

The commissioner further explained that all project stages have been completed.

He highlighted that this initiative will improve energy accessibility in the region and align with the state’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.
