American track and field star athletes Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall are now a gold medal-winning Olympic power couple.
Woodhall won gold in the men’s 400M race at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
He achieved this victory on Friday, matching his wife’s gold in the women’s long jump at the Paris Olympics. Later that day, Woodhall also helped the U.S. team win bronze in the mixed 4x100m universal relay.
With this achievement, Woodhall is now a five-time Paralympic medalist. He previously won two bronzes and a silver at the 2016 and 2020 Paralympics.

Woodhall and Davis-Woodhall, married in 2022, gained attention for their emotional celebration of her first Olympic medal. The couple, who met at a high school track meet, both competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
Davis-Woodhall joined the University of Georgia track team before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, where she finished her college career. Woodhall competed at the University of Arkansas, becoming the first double-amputee to receive a Division I track and field scholarship.
Born with fibular hemimelia, Woodhall had both legs amputated below the knee at 11 months old. Tara and Hunter first met in 2017 at a track meet in Idaho during their senior year of high school.

Their connection was instant, and they continued their relationship long distance as their careers progressed. After getting engaged in 2021, they married in 2022.
The couple’s romance began at a track meet in Idaho, where Woodhall immediately felt a spark. After Woodhall won his 400-meter race, Davis hugged him, and they briefly chatted before parting ways.
Davis later reached out on social media after noticing Woodhall’s late-night tweets. Their love story, marked by determination and mutual support, has flourished on the world’s biggest athletic stages.
Together, they continue to inspire, as they now stand as one of the most beloved couples in the world of track and field.
