Despite the outcome of the game, Pep says he was happy with the outcome of the game. He said he liked “everything from my team today.”

During the game, England player Phil Foden and German midfield maestro Ilkay Gundogan were introduced at half-time for Savinho and Kevin De Bruyne respectively.

De Bruyne’s injury

Reacting to his decision, the Spanish manager said it wasn’t due to injury as he already made the decision to change irrespective of the knock suffered by De Bruyne just before the end of the first half.

“The way they defend, I said after 35 minutes I want to make this change. After what happened with Kevin and the doctors said he was not ready to play, but I wanted to make the change anyway.”
