Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim shared his thoughts on Amad Diallo‘s performance after the 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town. The Ivorian winger impressed both offensively and defensively in his new role as a right wing-back.
Early on, Amad showcased his attacking flair, exploiting space on Ipswich’s left side to deliver a pinpoint assist to Marcus Rashford’s opener in the second minute.
Omari Hutchinson later equalised with a deflected curling effort before halftime as both teams shared the spoils.

Amorim was particularly pleased with Amad’s defensive improvements, noting his growth within just three days of adaptation.
“I think he was very good,” Amorim said. “[In] these three days he has improved so much defensively.”
Additionally, Amorim highlighted Amad’s simplified defensive responsibilities, which allowed him to thrive against Ipswich’s left-back.
“It is so much easier… he just follows his man and goes back with the same man,” Amorim added.
Overall, Amad’s evolving ability to balance attack and defense was very important for the Red Devils.
