Information just reaching us says President Muhammadu Buhari has backed a southern presidency.

This is following the advise given to the President by the 11 Northern governors under the flagship of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Buhari who will complete his two terms come May 29, 2022 made this known in a dinner with All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirants at the Aso Rock Villa.

Badaru withdraws from Presidential race

Following the statement of President Buhari, Jigawa Governor, Muhammed Badaru has withdrawn from the Presidential race.

The APC already have about 11 candidates vying for the post ahead of the June 7 National Convention.

In light of the recent development, more candidates are expected to announce their withdrawal even at the Convention ground.

There could be an agreement for consensus candidacy while some defection could happen as well.
