In a bid to uplift living standards and stimulate the local economy, the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has unveiled plans for a mega empowerment initiative targeting thousands of residents across the state.

The initiative, aimed at benefiting business owners, petty traders, artisans, and individuals living with disabilities, is part of the administration’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and economic growth.

On Friday, the committee overseeing the initiative held a crucial meeting with stakeholders representing diverse groups across the state.

The stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with the government to ensure the success of the program.

Among the groups represented were religious bodies such as Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), youth organizations like the Muslim Youth Societies and Youth Wing of CAN (YOWICAN), and regional coalitions, including the Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG), Kwara South groups, and Kwara Central groups.

Other notable participants included representatives from the Kwara State Artisans Congress, Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), and other civil society and community-based organizations.

Deputy Chief of Staff and committee chairperson, Bukola Babalola, emphasised that the empowerment program is a hallmark of the AbdulRazaq administration’s dedication to improving citizens’ welfare.

She assured stakeholders that the initiative would reach a wide demographic across the state, ensuring equitable distribution of resources.

“This program is a reflection of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision for an inclusive Kwara State. Our goal is to empower thousands of Kwarans, fostering economic self-reliance and community development,” Babalola stated.

With this initiative, the Kwara State Government seeks to make a lasting impact on the lives of its citizens, driving both economic growth and social well-being.
