Lionel Messi presented 8 gold rings after winning 8th Ballon d’Or award

Lionel Messi has been presented with 8 gold rings after he received his 8th Ballon d’Or on Monday night.

In a series of posts by Adidas on X (formerly Twitter), each ring is said to represent each year the 36-year-old has won the Ballon d’Or.

Each ring design is different and carries details of every time he was named the Ballon d’Or award winner.

Messi won a record-extending 8th Ballon d’Or award, beating Erling Haaland (2nd) and Kylian Mbappe (3rd) to the award.
