Premier League side Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.
Tonali joins Eddie Howe’s team for an undisclosed fee – believed to be in excess of £50million on an initial contract.
Newcastle are making a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2003. Obviously, they need to bolster their squad especially with players boasting European football experience.

The 23-year-old is expected to be at the St James’ Park until 2028, after signing a five-year contract.
With 14 senior caps, Sandro Tonali has captained his country at the European Under-21s Championship in Georgia and Romania.
His signing also comes less than 24 hours after Italy exited the competition at the group stage.
Reacting to his new deal, Sandro Tonali said: “First of all, I want to thank Newcastle United because they are giving me a huge opportunity for my career.
“I want to repay the trust on the pitch, giving it my all, as I always have. I’m really excited about playing at St James Park, I can’t wait to feel the warmth of the fans.”
