Ryan Taylor, the former partner of Nigeria’s singer-songwriter and disc jockey, DJ Cuppy has converted to Islam.
The celebrity bicycle rider and boxer took to his Instagram account on Saturday, March 30 to document his journey into Islam religion.
Sharing a photo of himself in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Ryan Taylor wrote in Arabic, “لا يهمني ما تقوله عني، الله يعلم قلبي.”

He continued, “Exactly one year after I took my shahada with my uncle @talebsaqralqasimi I am blessed with being able to visit the house of Allah.
He added, “I’m truly blessed. Not because of what I have, or for what I’m doing. Everything is written. But for being able to witness so much love and feel so much peace and security with this path I chose. I never imagined I would become Muslim.”
He concluded by writing, “Even growing up in Walsall I was surrounded with Muslims and now I think back to the moments where I didn’t understand and it all makes sense. I feel alive. Healthy. And fulfilled. I’ve never felt this way and Deep Down in my soul I know that god has got me.”
