President Bola Tinubu engaged in a phone conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday at approximately 4 p.m. Nigerian time.

The 30-minute discussion focused on key bilateral issues, according to Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.

The dialogue between the two leaders centered on strengthening collaboration between Nigerian and U.S. law enforcement agencies, particularly in light of recent developments involving Tigran Gambaryan, Head of Finance Crime Compliance at Binance.

Tuggar stated, “The call was about the collaboration between the two countries with regards to law enforcement and law enforcement agencies as well as the release of one of the suspects of the crypto currency exchange company that you are all aware of.”

President Tinubu expressed gratitude for the U.S. support across various security sectors, especially in Africa and West Africa.

President Biden reiterated the U.S.’s commitment to Africa, emphasizing that the continent holds significant global potential and is a priority for future partnerships.

Additionally, Biden assured Tinubu of U.S. support for Africa’s representation on the United Nations Security Council, affirming that Africa deserves a permanent seat, with Nigeria considered a strong candidate.
