In a strategic move aimed at bolstering internal security and improving operational effectiveness, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has redeployed Commissioner of Police (CP) Jimoh Moshood to lead the Lagos State Police Command.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, police spokesperson disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Moshood, who has held key positions in the Nigerian Police Force, including CP Communications Operations at the Force Headquarters, Force Public Relations Officer, and CP Eastern Port in Rivers State, brings a wealth of experience to the Lagos State Command.
His extensive background in communications, administration, public relations, and operational expertise uniquely qualifies him to lead Lagos’ police force.

Egbetokun expressed confidence that CP Moshood’s appointment will enhance coordination among police units, strengthen community engagement, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the state.
In his new role, Moshood has been charged with upholding the rule of law, maintaining operational excellence, and implementing proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property in Lagos.
The IGP further urged him to lead with integrity, enforce discipline, and ensure effective policing.
