Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has commissioned the newly refurbished Plateau State House of Assembly Complex in Jos.
He reaffirmed his administration’s deep commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and fostering executive-legislative collaboration.
The landmark ceremony was attended by a broad spectrum of legislators, civil servants, and political observers, marking a significant step toward institutional renewal in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Mutfwang described the extensively renovated edifice as more than a physical transformation; he hailed it as a “symbol of institutional renewal and democratic progress.”

“This is where successive governments and governors have shaped the destiny of our state. We are glad that today we can have an edifice that truly befits the pride of Plateau,” Mutfwang declared.
He emphasised that the commissioning was a “celebration of a healthy executive–legislative relationship” designed to enhance the critical business of lawmaking for the state’s populace.
The governor stressed that democracy thrives best when its institutions operate in harmony for the collective good, and he expressed his profound appreciation to the House leadership and members for their cooperation and partnership.

In his response, the Speaker of the house, Naanlong Daniel, offered high praise for the governor, commending him for what he termed unprecedented support to the legislative arm.
The Speaker noted that this gesture has effectively redefined the working relationship between the two arms of government.
“Your Excellency, words cannot fully capture our gratitude. Through your support, we now have a conducive environment to discharge our constitutional responsibilities effectively,” Daniel stated.
He affirmed that the upgraded facility would enable the Assembly to “produce quality laws and engage more robustly in legislative processes” that would translate the governor’s vision into tangible benefits for the people.
The Speaker further acknowledged that Mutfwang’s leadership has extended beyond infrastructure, highlighting the enhancement of lawmakers’ capacity through various workshops and training sessions aimed at building a more competent and forward-thinking Assembly.
As the refurbished complex opens its chambers for legislative business, Mutfwang’s message remains anchored on building a stronger Plateau State through a foundation of unity, partnership, and institutional excellence.
