“Abiola Ajimobi set to resume as chairman soon”. This was the statement of Dr Abdulazeez Olatunde, the Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
Dr. Abdulazeez Olatunde, said on Saturday that the former governor Abiola Ajimobi will resume duty as the acting National Chairman of the party as soon as possible.
He also said that those online platforms who said Ajimobi would be sworn in as acting National Chairman of the APC next week, misinterpreted him.
He refuted rumours that there was a crisis within APC due to the decision of the National Working Committee to appoint Hilliard Eta to act on behalf of the ailing Ajimobi.

Ajimobi was until his new appointment the APCās Deputy National Chairman (South).
Olatunde stated that Ajimobi is the Acting Chairman. “For one reason or the other, he is not available now. However, he will be available very soon. It could be next week, upper week, or anytime. When he is okay, he is going to resume”.
In the words of Abdulazeez Olatunde: āThere is no crisis in our party. Eta is the one acting on behalf of our leader, Abiola Ajimobi”.

It will be recalled that the rumour of Ajimobiās death went viral on Thursday. However, it was later debunked by Bolaji Tunji, Media aide to the former governor. Fatima Ganduje, Ajimobi’s daughter-in-law also dispelled the rumours.
