Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Nigerian chef and entrepreneur, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci for breaking the Guinness World Record for the ‘longest cooking marathon.’
Sanwo-Olu via his Facebook page on Monday said Hilda made Lagos proud, adding that her accomplishment was a testament to the Nigerian spirit.
He added that the flavor, passion, and dedication she [Hilda] puts into her work are unparalleled.

He wrote: “Huge congratulations to Chef Hilda Baci on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest hours spent cooking.
“I had the privilege of visiting and tasting her amazing dishes yesterday. The flavor, passion and dedication she puts into her work are unparalleled.
“Hilda, you’ve made Lagos proud and your accomplishment is a testament to the Nigerian spirit. Keep cooking up greatness!”
Hilda Baci in the early hour of Monday surpassed the current Guinness World Record holder, Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who achieved the feat in 2019 with 87 hours 45 minutes record uninterrupted cooking.
According to reports, she breaks the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual” after hitting the 87 hours 50 minutes mark.
The 27-year-old restaurateur began the competition on Thursday after she turned on her cooker at 4:00 PM and surpassed the current world record holder on Monday morning.
