Nigeria’s Falconets have exited the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Japan in the Round of 16.

The match, held on Friday morning, saw both teams battling for dominance from the start.

One of the first half’s standout moments came when Edo Queens defender Comfort Folorunsho made a stunning goal-line clearance. Despite Nigeria’s efforts, Japan took the lead in the 33rd minute through a Miyu Matsunaga header from Ujihara’s cross.
