The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended key deadlines for its 2027 election activities.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka in a statement on Monday said the move was to accommodate late submissions and ensure broader participation in its primary process.
He said the party’s National Working Committee shifted the timelines for the purchase and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants to finalise their documentation.
Felix Morka stated that the updated schedule provides a short but important extension.

He noted that the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

According to him, the party is expected to release the final list of cleared aspirants on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, following the conclusion of the screening process.
With the adjustment, many believe the extension reflects the party’s attempt to manage a surge in interest while preventing administrative bottlenecks from excluding credible contenders.
By adjusting the schedule, the APC appears to be allowing more time for compliance, while also creating room for a more thorough vetting process that could help minimise disputes after the primaries.

Although the party did not state explicit reasons for the change, the emphasis on midnight deadlines points to an anticipated last-minute rush at its national secretariat in Abuja.
