Nigeria has announced a 23-man Super Eagles squad to face Benin Republic and Rwanda in September’s AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
NRTC confirmed the list after its formal announcements on the official X handles of the Super Eagles (@NGSuperEagles) and the Nigeria Football Federation (@thenff) on Tuesday.
The squad announcement comes hours after the NFF appointed German manager Bruno Labbadia as Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
Three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders, and seven forwards were named ahead of the qualifiers.

Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is listed while team captain William Troost-Ekong is named. Other defenders on the list are Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Also, Orlando Pirates ‘wall’ Olisa Ndah is named in the squad, much to the excitement of Nigerian football fans.
For the midfield area, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Alhassan Yusuf as well as Club Brugge player Raphael Onyedika all make the list.
In attack, reigning Atalanta player of the year Ademola Lookman is listed alongside AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze.
Moses Simon, who scored in Nantes’ latest game, is among the players announced alongside Taiwo Awoniyi.
As expected, Victor Osimhen – who is a subject of an ongoing transfer speculation – alongside Victor Boniface are not left out. Making the squad as well is Sevilla new man Kelechi Iheanacho.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will play Benin Republic on Saturday, 7 September and then face Rwanda three days later.
