5 benefits of brisk walking


Walking is the easiest form of exercise to do. Studies have found that people who walk have less body fat than those who donā€™t. It also lowers the risk of heart diseases thereby improving overall health. The good thing is that walking is free. Unlike hitting the gym, you do not require a membership. Here are five benefits people who walk regularly enjoy.

1. Weight loss

A thirty minute walk can burn up to 200 calories of fat. Overtime, this will result in overall weight loss.

Being exposed to natural sunlight by taking a walk in the morning is good for the circadian rhythm. The causes the body to become to a normal waking and sleeping time. Stress relief is directly linked to exercise. This could also be a pathway to sleeping better. Studies have also shown that people who take one-hours walks everyday are more likely to resolve insomnia than people who donā€™t.

3. Improved mental health

Walking improves blood flow and blood circulation to the brain, thereby boosting oneā€™s mood.  It also helps with decreasing negative feelings. The body produces more endorphins when one walks.
