I Have Enhanced My Mental Well-Being

From my experience, it can be said that after the rejection from social media, I noticed a change in my head status for the better. Before, I also found myself glued in the negative comments section, scrolling my feed for hours; that harmed me. Comparing my life to others and getting so stressed over things that I can never control did not do me any good.

And now, having deleted the social networks, I can state that there is no need to compare yourself with others. The endless cycle of comparing myself to others has finally come to an end which is very helpful to my mind to be free and let off some steam. I had a less stressed feeling today, and it can be said that my psychological well-being has improved. To sum up, based on the findings, it is possible to suggest that to recover control over the subjectā€™s mental health, it is necessary to temporarily cease using social media.

I Have Cut Down on Screen Time

To help manage my IBS, I knew I needed to reduce my screen time. However, the addictive nature of social media made that challenging. Social media apps consumed most of my daily screen time, and I started experiencing eye strain and neck pain from poor posture. My habit of scrolling before bed also disrupted my sleep routine.

I Am More Productive Now

Previously, I was very much inclined towards social networking sites and considered them as time passed. Initially, a simple check of the notification where I would originally only spend a few minutes would turn into hours that I hardly noticed passing by and were unproductive at that. For example, my thoughts will always shift to waiting for replies to the posts on which I had commented most of the time even after quitting social media.

This habit hurts my freelance job. Still, what would have been accomplishable in a few hours would take me the whole day to accomplish.

This particular interference was eliminated by quitting the use of social media. I have now channelled my efforts towards my work, leaving my mind completely on it and still, it is not enough. If thereā€™s no constant notification ping, I can focus more and work on tasks on time. If you are also fighting the same problem of low productivity then alone switching off social media seems to have a pretty big impact.

I Have Reduced Impulsive Spending

Have you ever told your friend or family about a product and later found its advert on your Facebook or Instagram feed? The constant suggestions from these tailored ads formerly made me give into those impulsively to make purchases which I would always regret. Some of the influencers who promote trendy products also used to encourage me to buy things I did not need.

This was made worse by the convenience, especially with the advancement in technology; all that a person needed to do to order the item was to click on the button. Aha here was a habit that was stretching my budget to an unbearable limit. After getting rid of social networks and social media, I have used much less money in a month. Today thereā€™s been a massive shift, and I only buy rising necessities while before I used to spend on items that I developed an interest in.

I Am Less Concerned About Identity Theft

In todayā€™s world where computer hacking is a daily occurrence, identity theft is of course a significant issue in peopleā€™s minds. On this matter, though, I do not have the same level of concern as I have with other issues. Hence the rather low concern with it since I take ample precautions to ensure that my data is secure. I further believe that I hugely reduce the possibility of identity theft through the use of powerful, distinct passcodes, activation of two factorsā€™ identification, and constant surveillance of my financial accounts. Further, being up to date with security measures ensures that any impending threats are detected early enough, and that is why in case of any risks, I can handle them efficiently.
