The entertainment industry is one of the largest industries in Nigeria. Lately, it’s been responsible for putting Nigeria out there especially via music. Following closely after is the film industry. The people doing the work come from all over the country. Like many other states in Nigeria, Jos has had its own fair share of celebrities. Here are 5 well-known celebrities from Jos who continue to give the state a good name.

1. Nafisat Abdullahi

Nafisat Abdullahi is a Nigerian actress, producer and director. She hails from Jos, Plateau. She studied theatre arts in University of Jos. Most recently, she has attended London School of Photography. She is currently one of the most highly paid Kannywood actresses.

2. P-square

The duo, Paul and Peter Okoye, were born in Jos. They first rose to fame in 2003. Above all, they’ve inspired a good number of youth to follow in their footsteps. Jos is still yet to see talent like theirs.

3. Abubakar Adam Ibrahim

Mallam Abubakar is a Nigerian writer and journalist from Jos, Nigeria. His first novel, Season of Crimson Blossoms was published to critical acclaim. In 2016, he won the Nigeria Prize for Literature.

4. M.I

Mr Abaga has once been described as the top African rapper. He hails from Jos, Nigeria. He first rose to fame when his song “Crowd Mentality” became popular in Jos.
