Kemi Adetiba and Oscar Heman-Ackah
Popular filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, got married to her lover, Oscar Heman-Ackah in a beautiful traditional ceremony on April 23, 2022. Several entertainers including Sola Sobowale, Bankole Wellington, and Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington graced the occasion.
Rita Dominic and Fidelis Anosike
The Nigerian entertainment industry stood still for foremost actress, Rita Dominic, as she wedded Fidelis Anosike, who is a publisher. The all-green traditional marriage affair had the crème de la crème of the industry in attendance including Uche Jombo, Hilda Dokubo, and Chidi Mokeme in April. However, the white wedding was held on November 26 in England.
MI Abaga and Eniola Mafe
Rapper, Jude Abaga, aka MI, announced in April that he will be marrying his fiancée, Eniola Mafe. While announcing his wedding, MI wrote on the social media pages, “I’m a private person. But it’s time to share a little part of my joy with you. @eniolamafe and I met on December 3, 2020 and straight away I knew I had found the one. I am excited to announce that we are getting married this year and we ask for your support and blessings as we embark on this journey.” The couple tied the nuptial knot in September.
Tim Godfrey and Erica
Popular gospel singer, Tim Godfrey, announced his engagement to his fiancée, Erica Jones, in February. The “Nara” crooner wrote on Instagram, “Meeting you changed my life. Meeting you brought unending smiles. Most importantly, meeting you was and is my greatest reward from God. Thank you for saying yes!
“I can’t imagine how I have lived without you all my life… but guess what? I would have waited forever till our parts crossed. But thank God, this blissful and heaven made journey has started. After giving my life to Christ, sharing life with you is the best thing that has happened to me. No measure of time with you will be enough. But let’s start with forever. “EKJ” You are my still waters! I love you.”
The white wedding was held in April while the traditional ceremony was held in June.
Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa
The wedding between gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, and Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa was the talk of the town. The couple got married in August in an elaborate ceremony. The event brought together several dignitaries including business mogul, Obi Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana; gospel singer, Chioma Jesus; actor and singer, Bankole Wellington and his wife, Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington, who are members of the church that Pastor Uzochikwa heads. The groom is the Senior Pastor of Waterbrook Church, Lekki, Lagos.
Deborah Paul-Enenche and Sam Hawthorn Uloko
The first daughter of the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche, got married to her fiancé, Sam Hawthorn Uloko, in a grand ceremony in Abuja in December.
The event attracted several personalities including former president Goodluck Jonathan; a former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State; Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church, among others.
