Nursing a career in a field we are talented in is an achievement we all desire. The zeal to create wealth and excel financially has nothing to do with gender, despite Nigeria being regarded to as a male dominated society.
Numerous women are already taking the front stage in their various field of endeavour. Where there is a willingness, and when opportunities are properly harnessed, success is bound to be achieved, regardless of one’s gender.
NRTC published an article on; 7 Notable Female Role Models from Delta state last month. This month, we will be taking a tour to neighbouring, Edo state.
In this article we shall be profiling seven notable and inspirational female role models to have emerged from Edo State.
Edo State Indigenes are Hardworking
Edo state is one of the oil rich regions of Nigeria. Located in the Southern part of the country, she boasts of over five million people in its population. The people of Edo are industrious; and are known to seek for greener pastures elsewhere if their present location does not favour them.

Founded on August 27, 1991, away from Bendel state. Edo capital city, Benin is a den of commercial activities. Edo indigenes are hardworking and excel in numerous fields they engage in. Including actors, comedians, presenters, and entrepreneurs, to say the least.
Edo State Boasts of Notable Entertainers
1. Helen Paul
Helen Paul is a comedian, singer and actress. She has worked and served as a freelance and full-time presenter at several media houses in Nigeria. They include Lagos Television (LTV 8) and Radio Continental, and MNet. Currently, Helen co-presents JARA on Africa Magic TV with Uti Nwachukwu.

Helen Paul is the owner of massive fabrics and bridal boutique brand which is based in Lagos, Nigeria. Hardworking Helen, also owns and runs the Helen Paul Theatre and Film academy’.
She recently graduated with a doctorate in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos. Helen is married to Femi Bamisile, and their marriage is blessed with two sons.
2. Moet Abebe
Laura Monyeazo Abebe (born 29 July 1989), popularly known as Moet Abebe. Is a Nigerian video jockey, television presenter, actress, and catering executive. In 2016, she began her career on Soundcity Radio 98.5fm. Abebe also co-own LM Occasions with her mum. An Event Management and Catering Company.

3. Anita Uwagbale
Anita Queen Uwagbale is a former beauty queen and businesswoman. She won the most beautiful girl in Nigeria contest in 2004 which enabled her to take part in the Miss Universe and Miss World contests later that year.

4. Adesua Etomi-Wellington
Adesua Etomi-Wellington is a Nigerian actress. In 2014, she starred in her first feature film Knocking On Heaven’s Door. Adesua won the best actress in a Drama award at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards was in 2016.
This was for her role in Falling, the 2015 romantic drama film. She also acted a leading role in the Wedding Party Part 1 & 2. and also in the King of Boys movies. She is happily married to Nigerian music star and actor, Banky W.
5. Osayuwamen Peace Saleh
Osayuwamen Saleh is a renowned Family Priority Practitioner; Television presenter and a skin care consultant. She is also a certified alumnus of the Daystar Leadership Academy. and an NLP Master Practitioner.
In 2017, she founded the Osayuwamen Saleh Foundation. The charity that helps to transform the minds of children towards achieving greatness. She is married and blessed with two sons.
Toyin Abraham is a Proud Indigene of Edo State
6. Toyin Abraham
Toyin Abraham, born Olutoyin Aimakhu on September 5, 1982 in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria is an actress, filmmaker, director and producer.
Abraham spent her early life in Ibadan, Oyo state. She obtained a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Marketing from Ibadan Polytechnic.
She has acted in numerous high profile movies which includes; Elevator Baby (2019), Kasanova (2019), Bling Lagosians (2019), The Ghost and the Tout (2018), Seven and a Half Dates (2018) and Alakada Reloaded (2017).
7. Doris Simeon
Doris Simeon started her career in the Papa Ajasco comedy series. She came into the spotlight when she acted in a Nollywood movie titled Oloju Ede.
She studied production management at the PEFT Institute. Doris has starred in numerous movies which includes; Alakada, Ten Million Naira, Omo Iya Kan, Ghetto Dreams, Silence, Gucci Girls, and many others.
Simeon has a son, David, with her ex husband Daniel Ademinokan, a film producer and director.
