5 types of people in the aftermath of the general elections

The 2023 general elections have been long-awaited by Nigerians. Now that all is said and done, (well, except knowing who our next president is) let’s take a look at five different types of people in the aftermath.

1. The winners

Well, by now, those on the winning side are already confident that their candidate will bring home the seat. These ones have been taunting people since Saturday. They think it is their foresightedness that gave their candidate an edge.

2. The losers

Since Saturday, just like the winners, the losers have been disrupting everything on social media. From cutting off loved ones to long-time friends, these ones are ready to risk it all. Blood pressure has been on a steady rise since Saturday for people in this camp. They are calling for the abolition of the INEC. Some of them are even calling for war. In this Nigeria? God forbid.

3. The Japa-ees

Japa has been an option even before the elections. So this did not start today. Nevertheless, some unfortunate people have been threatening us with their absence on a national level. These ones think we are all useless for staying. Las las, it is the same Nigeria that you left, that you will come and meet. We are waiting for you.

4. The ones keeping vigil by the TV-Stand

Our parents and ancestors belong in this category. They have no business with Twitter Collation centres and polls. They are seeing everything in real time as it is happening.

5. The ones who couldn’t care less

These ones are the exact definition of voter apathy. They did not even come out to vote. After all, there is hunger in the land. Their lives have carried on as if nothing is happening. They believe no matter who you vote for, the big men in Abuja will install whoever they want.

Which one are you?
