Melinda French Gates has opened up about why she ended her marriage to Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, after nearly three decades together.
She said the decision came after she realised honesty was missing in their relationship, which made it hard to feel close or maintain trust.
Melinda made these remarks during an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
She explained that she had always wanted a marriage where both people could speak openly and trust each other, but when that wasn’t possible, she felt it was time to walk away.
The couple, who have three children together, officially ended their marriage in 2021.
