The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, on Wednesday commissioned a state-of-the-art Police Mechanical Workshop and 40 tactical vehicles as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of the force.

Force spokesperson ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement.

Located in Dei-Dei, Abuja, the newly inaugurated mechanical workshop is designed to service and maintain police vehicles to ensure rapid emergency response and uninterrupted operational readiness.

The facility is equipped with cutting-edge tools and technology to support the Force’s tactical and operational units.

In a separate event at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP also unveiled 40 new tactical and operational vehicles, including anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), to bolster the police’s capacity to combat crime and maintain public order.

While addressing the public during the commissioning, Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and issued a stern warning to individuals and groups threatening Nigeria’s peace and stability.

“The Nigeria Police Force is fully prepared to confront anyone attempting to disrupt the peace and tranquillity of our nation. We will act swiftly, strategically, and decisively to neutralise any threat,” he said.
