Femi Adebayo’s ex-wife calls him out over eviction, marriage crisis

The former wife of actor Femi Adebayo, Omotayo Sanusi, popularly known as Iyan Aladuke, has criticized him following the dispute surrounding her eviction from a Lagos property and the breakdown of their marriage.

Her reaction followed public comments made by a member of Adebayo’s family who addressed the eviction issue after social media users accused the actor of abandoning his ex-wife and leaving her business to collapse.

Iyan Aladuke earlier shared her struggles online, explaining that her business had shut down due to events beyond her control.

Her post triggered widespread reactions, with many linking her situation to her past marriage to the actor.

In response, a family member, Taiwo Abdulmalik, explained in an interview that the eviction was not a personal decision by Femi.

According to her, the Lagos property was bought through a bank loan, and the bank later moved to recover it after repayment problems, leading to foreclosure.

Reacting to the report, Iyan Aladuke said she never planned to take her situation to social media but felt pushed to speak after what she described as false stories about her began to circulate.

She said she has been facing a difficult period and could no longer remain silent while narratives that paint her wrongly continue to spread.

She claimed that the truth about her former husband’s behaviour is gradually becoming clear, while the stories told against her are beginning to fall apart.

According to her, the eviction was carried out forcefully, alleging that about 20 men were brought to remove them from the property and that the incident was expected to pass quietly.

Iyan Aladuke further alleged that her elderly mother was also affected during the eviction, stating that armed men threw her out despite knowing she regularly came around to help care for her child.

She accused Femi of being more concerned about protecting his public image than the effect of his actions on others.

She stated that she had kept quiet for a long time for the sake of their son but has now decided to speak up.

She also claimed that the actor made a sudden appearance at their child’s school after being absent for about a year, suggesting that the visit was staged to improve his image following the eviction drama.

Iyan Aladuke insisted that she would no longer allow attempts to damage her reputation or silence her voice.

She called for the withdrawal of what she described as false reports published about the incident, warning that she was speaking out only out of restraint and consideration for her child.

She wrote, “I’m going through a tough time and really didn’t want to air it on social media, but here I am. Last year, I was bashed and falsely accused, but thank God for the good people around me who stood by me. Now it seems the tables have turned-what was meant to disgrace me has turned to glory.

“The lies are falling apart, and people are seeing the true character. I can see the desperation, the damage control. What did you expect when you took almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people? Of course, the news would spread! You started it, keep fueling. My aged mother was thrown out with a gun, knowing fully well she’ll be there as she comes around to help me with my child! Who are you to talk to me about God! You don’t know God! You only put up the act.

“You always want to silence me by targeting my reputation. I’m done keeping quiet! You can’t silence me anymore! The desperation to save your name, you don’t care who goes down! I’m not going down with your lies! Whoever published those false narratives in Punch Newspapers should retract them. I’m only quiet because of my son-please don’t push me!

“You staged a visit to his school on Wednesday after being absent for a whole year, even when your office is just a few minutes’ walk from home! You took a picture to garnish your image, watched us thrown out of my marital home on Friday, and now published the visit in Punch. I knew what was coming the moment I was told of your impromptu visit and picture play.”
