Wolverhampton Wanderers has spoken out after striker Tolu Arokodare faced vile racist abuse on social media.
The attacks followed Wolves’ 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday, during which Arokodare missed a penalty just before halftime.
The club vowed unwavering support for their forward. “Tolu has our full and unwavering support. No player should be subjected to such hatred simply for doing their job,” Wolves stated.
Zero tolerance: Wolves commit to action against racism
Wolves stressed, “There is no place for racism – in football, online, or anywhere in society. We condemn this abhorrent and unlawful behaviour in the strongest possible terms.”

The statement confirmed the posts have been reported to relevant platforms. “We will work with the Premier League and the authorities to help identify those responsible and ensure appropriate action is taken,” the club added.

Wolves concluded by reiterating their firm stance. “We stand firmly alongside him, and alongside all footballers who are forced to endure this abuse from anonymous accounts acting with apparent impunity. We will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of discrimination.”
The club’s response shows football’s ongoing fight against online hatred and reinforces solidarity for players targeted for no reason beyond their identity.
