Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has established a committee to investigate the unusual flooding that devastated rice farmlands in Shonga, located in the Edu Local Government Area.
The flooding left many farmers in distress, prompting swift action from the state government.
The committee, led by Deputy Chief of Staff Princess Bukola Babalola, will be supported by key government officials, including the Commissioners for Agriculture, Water Resources, and Environment.
Also involved are the Special Adviser on Special Duties, the SSA on Security to the Governor, representatives from the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency, a director from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Kwara State Social Investment Programme.

The team will visit the affected areas for a fact-finding mission and to convey the state governmentās condolences to His Royal Highness, Emir of Shonga, Haliru Yahyah Ndanusa, as well as the victims of the disaster.
