Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has intensified efforts to attract high-impact investments to the state by promoting two major projects — the Ilorin Smart City and the Agroprocessing Zone.
In a statement on the state government’s Facebook page, the governor shared insights about these initiatives during his engagements at the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) in Rabat, Morocco.
Invited by the African Development Bank Group, Governor AbdulRazaq described the projects as transformative ventures poised to drive economic growth and development in Kwara State.
“I had the privilege of attending the inaugural sessions of the Africa Investment Forum Market Days.
“During the session, I engaged in networking and dialogues with potential collaborators for our impactful initiatives such as the specialized agroprocessing zone and the visionary Ilorin Smart City project”, the governor stated.

Themed “Leveraging Innovative Partnerships for Scale”, the three-day AIF event brought together leaders, investors, and stakeholders from across the continent, offering a platform to explore transformative deals.
Governor AbdulRazaq, who also chairs the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, underscored the importance of the forum as Africa’s premier investment marketplace.
As part of his efforts, the governor also met with Walid Hareb Al Falahi, CEO of Dubai Consultancy, to discuss potential partnerships. This engagement reflects AbdulRazaq’s determination to position Kwara as a hub for innovation and industrial development.
“The AIF is meticulously crafted to facilitate transformative deals that will mould the destiny of the continent,” the governor noted, expressing optimism about the impact of these projects on Kwara’s socio-economic future.
The Ilorin Smart City and Agroprocessing Zone are flagship projects under AbdulRazaq’s administration, aiming to boost urban development and agricultural value chains while creating jobs and improving livelihoods in the state.
