Tammy Abraham’s stoppage-time strike sealed a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory for AC Milan over Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.
Played at Riyadh’s King Saud University Stadium, the derby clash saw Milan recover from two goals down to deny Inter a record fourth consecutive Super Cup title.
Inter took control early, with Lautaro Martínez scoring just before half-time. Mehdi Taremi set him up with a precise pass, allowing Martínez to beat Malick Thiaw and fire past Mike Maignan.

Minutes into the second half, Taremi doubled Inter’s lead. Stefan de Vrij’s long ball found him, and his composed finish made it 2-0.
AC Milan’s response was immediate and decisive. Substitute Rafael Leão ignited their fightback, winning a free kick that Theo Hernández converted to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Milan piled on the pressure, with Tijjani Reijnders and Álvaro Morata testing Inter’s defense. Inter came close to a third when Carlos Augusto’s header hit the post, but Milan held firm.
Their persistence paid off when Christian Pulisic leveled the match. Surrounded by defenders, he controlled Theo Hernández’s cross and finished clinically into the far corner.
Abraham nets to seal win for Milan in Super Cup
With penalties looming, Milan pressed for a winner. In stoppage time, Leão delivered a perfect pass across the box, and Abraham slotted home to complete the comeback.
The win handed new manager Sérgio Conceição his first trophy in only his second match in charge. “We played with confidence, courage, and hunger,” said Abraham after the game. “We’re a strong team.”
For Milan, the victory not only ended Inter’s Super Cup dominance but also matched their rivals’ total of eight titles. Under Conceição’s leadership, Milan is looking stronger than ever, with two wins against Juventus and Inter in just one week.
Milan had defeated Juventus last Friday in the semi-finals. Pulisic’s penalty and Federico Gatti’s own goal helped Milan come from behind to defeat the Old Lady 2-1.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was absent due to an injury he sustained days back. He didn’t travel with the team to Saudi Arabia for the semi-final and final of the Super Coppa.
