Remo Stars have completed the signings of Malian duo Chaka Coulibaly and Adama Goita as the Nigeria Premier Football League champions prepare to defend their domestic crown.
The club confirmed that midfielder Coulibaly joined from Binga FC in Mali. Striker Goita arrived on a free transfer from AS Bakary Djan, where he scored 14 goals last season. Some reports also linked him to earlier spells at Djoliba AC.
The club said the new signings were strategic as they looked to defend their maiden NPFL title, secured last season with 71 points, seven clear of Rivers United.

If successful, the Nigerian champions would advance to face South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. Club officials stated that international additions would improve competitiveness in continental fixtures.

Coulibaly have already participated in preseason training and they expected him to integrate quickly into coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s system. Goita was tipped to lead the attack. Both players signed two-year contracts.
The 2025-26 NPFL season would open for Remo Stars on August 22 against Rivers United at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, with the Ikenne stadium under renovation.
