Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has announced an increase in the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state from N20,000 to N30,000.
Fintiri made the disclosure on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.
“As a government, we are committed to improving the welfare of corps members. This increment aligns with our promise to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for you,” the governor said.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to youth development, noting that the allowance hike complements other ongoing welfare measures such as regular food provision and support services.
Fintiri also revealed that the state government is finalising plans for the construction of a new NYSC orientation camp. He directed the NYSC State Coordinator to engage corps members with professional skills in architecture, civil engineering, and quantity surveying to help supervise the project.
Welcoming the new corps members, the governor described them as crucial partners in implementing government policies, particularly in the education sector. “As bona fide citizens of Adamawa during your service year, you are expected to uphold discipline, engage in community development, and cultivate healthy interactions,” he said.
The Commissioner for Youths and NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Wali Yakubu, urged corps members to take their training seriously, follow camp regulations, and embrace skill acquisition programmes for self-reliance after service.
NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, praised the corps members’ conduct and active participation in camp activities. She also lauded Governor Fintiri for his consistent support, describing him as “a visionary leader and a beacon of youth empowerment in Nigeria.”
The ceremony featured the administration of the oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Adamawa, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, and the presentation of the NYSC journal to the governor.
