Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has issued a strong directive to security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the attack on Oba Jelil Olaiya, the Ajeniju of Hallelujah, and the subsequent burning of his palace.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke condemned the violent actions carried out by certain youth groups in the Ido Osun community.
He described the attacks as unacceptable and emphasised the need to uphold the rule of law.
The governor disclosed that he had spoken with Oba Olaiya, who is currently recuperating from injuries sustained during the attack.
He further instructed the Olojudo of Ido Osun, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola, to call the youth in his domain to order, while assuring that law enforcement agencies would restore calm in the area.
Governor Adeleke also directed the Commissioner of Police to secure the affected areas and ensure the arrest of the masterminds behind the violence.

Additionally, he mandated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dosu Babatunde, to initiate peace-building measures and conflict de-escalation efforts in collaboration with security operatives.
āResorting to violence to resolve communal disputes is unacceptable, and anyone found culpable will face the full wrath of the law,ā Governor Adeleke stated.
He urged communities with grievances to utilize appropriate government channels for conflict resolution rather than resorting to self-help.
The governor reaffirmed his administrationās commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state, warning that violent actions would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
