Ademola Lookman named Atalanta player of the season

Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman has been named the club’s player of the season for the 2023/2024 campaign. 

Lookman, 26, accumulated 17 goals and 8 assists in total for the across all competitions in 2023/2024.

His surreal performances across 31 appearances has earned him the award in successive seasons having previously won the award in the 2022/2023 campaign.

Recall, Lookman’s hat-trick in the UEFA Europa league final helped put an earlier undefeated Bayer 04 Leverkusen in their place and earned the club the first European trophy in its lengthy history.

The Nigerian forward saw off competition from midfield duo Ederson and Teun Koopmeiners to cart away the award in addition to an earlier obtained Europa League goal of the season award.

Starting his career earlier on in Charlton Athletic and following sojourns with Everton, Fulham and RB Leipzig, the Nigerian international has found a home with Atalanta BC.

Not resting on the laurels of an impressive 22/23 campaign, he stepped up as one of the most important players in the just concluded campaign.
