AFCON 2022: Cameroon win dramatic third-place match against Burkina Faso


The host of 2022 African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2022) Cameroon have won the third-place tie against Burkina Faso.

It was a dramatic game as the host had to come back onto the game from three goals down.

The hosts restored parity within 15 minutes to force Burkina Faso into penalty kicks. Cameroon converted all their kicks but Onana stopped one of the penalties from Burkina Faso to win the game for his country.

The magical moment came from the highest goalscorer of the tournament, Vincent Aboubakar who came into the clash to score a brace that took them into the shootout.

It was another opportunity for Burkina Faso to take revenge against the host that defeated them 2-1 in the opening game of their group.
