It is no longer news that the Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
But much is still needed to be done if the Eagles are to conquer in Cameroon. The challenge is expected to be tougher this time around as there are more games to be played.
We had a good game against Sudan no doubt, but looking at the quality, one expects Nigeria to maintain the intensity.
The next match against Guine-Bissau offers Austin Eguavoen the opportunity to give playing time to other members of the team. It will also afford him to try some other tactical changes that might be needed in subsequent games.
Meanwhile, there are some observations on this side that must be noted before getting into the knockout stage of the tournament. A single mistake can cost anyone a place.

For instance, the foul committed by Ola Aina inside box 18 while Nigeria was already three goals up is unnecessary. You can’t escape that kind of offence with the VAR insight.
This is the reason there has to be a compact marking in order to avoid unnecessary fouls that. This could make us loose another opportunity.
After the group games, it won’t be business as usual. Thus, it is expected that Eguavoen tight up the loose ends in order to secure our fourth African Nations Cup.
Who can stop Nigeria? Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon are not really that fantastic. Being beatable teams, it is expected for the Eagles to fly high in Cameroon.
