Tau, who plays for Egyptian club Al Ahly, had lost a penalty in Bafana Bafana’s defeat to Mali days earlier. He redeemed himself by opening the scoring.

Premier Soccer League legend Zwane drove in a fierce shot after meeting Thapelo Morena’s cross. The 34-year-old scored his second when he raced into the box and brilliantly finished past Lloyd Kazapua.

20-year-old substitute Thapelo Maseko then put the icing on the cake after Kazapua failed to deal with his shot.

Namibia had surprisingly beaten the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in their first match. That means if they and South Africa win their last group games, they automatically qualify for the next round. South Africa face Tunisia while Namibia lock horns with Mali.
