Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the employment of 1,100 primary school teachers under the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (ODSUBEB).
This move is part of the administration’s commitment to addressing teacher shortages in public schools across the state.
The approval follows the completion of the recruitment process by ODSUBEB.
It comes on the heels of the state government’s recent employment of 1,010 secondary school teachers, bringing the total number of newly recruited public school teachers to 2,110.

Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his dedication to filling all vacant teaching positions to tackle the acute shortage of educators in public schools.
The latest recruitment aims to improve the teacher-pupil ratio and enhance the quality of education, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of ODSUBEB, Victor Olabimtan, commended the governor for his proactive steps in strengthening the education sector.
He emphasised that the recruitment would help bridge workforce gaps left by teachers exiting the public service.
Olabimtan further praised Aiyedatiwa for his remarkable achievements in education, noting that his administration has made unprecedented progress in enhancing learning conditions in the state.
