Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Biyi Poroye, to focus on delivering impactful projects that will significantly uplift the lives of residents in oil-bearing communities.
The governor gave the charge during a reception organised by friends in honour of Poroye.
He stressed the need for the commission to execute its mandate with clear, measurable outcomes and visible improvements across affected areas.
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised Poroye’s determination, intellect, and leadership potential, encouraging him to ensure that every community under OSOPADEC’s jurisdiction feels the effect of the commission’s work.

He also called on board members to cooperate fully with the chairman to accelerate development across the region.
Also speaking at the event, Victor Olabimtan, who chaired the occasion, commended Aiyedatiwa for his progressive initiatives and for appointing Poroye as head of the commission.
He described Poroye as a capable and honest leader, expressing optimism that he would meet the expectations placed upon him.
The Planning Committee Chairman, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, echoed this sentiment, stating that with Poroye’s skills and commitment, oil-producing areas could expect transformative change.
In his response, Poroye thanked all attendees for their support and promised to justify the trust placed in him by working tirelessly for the benefit of the mandate areas.
