Aiyedatiwa vows to finish all ongoing projects, commences ‘thank you’ tour in Ifedore, Idanre

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, pledging that no ongoing project will be abandoned under his watch.

The governor made this vow on Tuesday, December 16, 2024, during his “Thank You” tour across the Ifedore and Idanre Local Government Areas.

Addressing large crowds of residents and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aiyedatiwa emphasised that his “historic mandate” places a duty on him to deliver tangible results to the people.

Aiyedatiwa highlighted several critical infrastructure projects currently in progress within the central senatorial district, including the 3km Ikota road, the 7.5km Ijare–Akure road and the Akure–Idanre road dualization.

He noted that rehabilitation works are also continuing on several roads that were previously abandoned by past administrations.

In a nod to local content, the governor revealed that at least one of the construction firms handling these projects is based in Ifedore Local Government Area.

Attributing the acceleration of these projects to increased federal funding, Aiyedatiwa credited the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu.

He stated that enhanced allocations have empowered the state to embark on multiple development initiatives simultaneously across all 18 local government areas.

Reflecting on the last election, the governor thanked the residents for what he described as a historic “18–0 pro max” mandate—referring to the clean sweep of all 18 local governments in the state.

He lauded the people of Idanre, noting that their massive votes played a pivotal role in “sealing” his victory.

Ahead of future elections, he appealed to APC members for unity and cohesion.

He urged aspirants for National Assembly seats to allow for party consultations.

He assured that the party would evaluate all interests to ensure the most suitable candidates are chosen.

The State Chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin, praised the Governor for restoring peace to the region, while other top government officials, including Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami and Speaker Olamide Oladiji, accompanied the governor on the tour.
