Al Ahli SC have strengthened their squad with the signing of former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong. The Qatar Stars League side confirmed the defender’s arrival on Tuesday.
Troost-Ekong joins Al Ahli from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Kholood. The Nigerian brings experience and authority to the back line.
The 32-year-old centre-back has committed his future to Al Ahli until June 2028. He will also wear his preferred number five shirt at his new club.
Troost-Ekong enjoyed a productive spell at Al Kholood, featuring 49 times and scoring twice. In addition, his leadership qualities were evident throughout his stay.
