Super Falcons and ex-Leicester City defender, Ashleigh Plumptre has teamed up with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.
Plumptre’s announcement was confirmed in a video on Al-Ittihad Ladies’ official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The 25-year-old represented Nigeria at the FIFA Women’s World Cup where the Super Falcons crashed out in the last 16.

She was a key part of the squad and helped Nigeria keep three clean sheets in four matches.
Plumptre wrote on her X account: āGrateful to have signed for Al-Ittihad š
“Excited to start this journey alongside some incredible human beings.
“My journey of stepping into more of myself continuesā¦ Itās more than football š.”
Plumptre was a free agent after she left Leicester City following the expiration of her contract. Even though she was linked with Manchester United, the player made it clear she wanted to move abroad.
