Amir Khan dreams of Joshua vs Fury fight, calls it the ultimate British battle

Former British world champion Amir Khan has expressed his desire to witness a long-awaited showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Despite years of discussions and rising anticipation, the blockbuster fight between the two heavyweight giants remains elusive.

Both Joshua and Fury have carved their names in British boxing history, yet a direct clash inside the ring has not materialised. Joshua, recovering from minor elbow surgery, is set for a comeback later this year, while Fury insists he has no plans of returning to the ring. However, many in the boxing world, including Khan, continue to hold out hope.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Khan admitted the thought of the two titans facing off excites him greatly. According to him, such a bout would be impossible to predict because of their contrasting but equally dangerous styles. On one hand, Joshua’s immense power can trouble any opponent; on the other, Fury’s endurance and boxing craft can wear rivals down.

“It’s really hard to call because styles make fights,” Khan explained. “Joshua is strong and powerful, while Fury boxes beautifully. I’d love to see them in the ring. It’s definitely a 50-50 fight. Both have been knocked down before, so you never know how it might end.”

Khan stated that Fury’s incredible resilience is one of his biggest strengths. Time and again, Fury has demonstrated a remarkable ability to rise from the canvas, making him a nightmare for any opponent. “He’s a tough man – you knock him down, he gets back up,” Khan said. “With Fury, you’ll always have to dig deep.”

Why the fight still matters to fans

While Fury currently insists he is done with boxing, and Joshua focuses on regaining full fitness, the potential clash remains a tantalizing prospect for British boxing fans. Khan believes that Joshua’s knockout power is unmatched, but Fury’s grit could make the difference in the ring.

“If you’re in with ‘AJ’, he can knock out anyone,” Khan added. “But Fury makes it a war. That’s why this fight must happen.”
