Amrabat, Greenwood and 11 other top deadline day transfers in Europe

The summer transfer window is now closed. Teams across Europe hustled on deadline day to secure the services of players or release those within their teams in order to meet the demands of the coaches and management, or not.

Did some of these teams make the right signings or were others just so unnecessary?

We take a look at some of the deadline day moves that happened this summer window of the 2023/24 season.

1. Hudson-Odoi, Vlachodimos join Nottingham Forest

England winger Callum Hudson-Odoi Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal from Chelsea.

Also, Forest completed the signing of Greek goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos on a four-year deal from Benfica.

2. Sofyan Amrabat finally joins Manchester United on loan

Manchester United signed Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat from Serie A club Fiorentina on a season-long loan.

Reports circulating in the British media indicate the deal is worth £8.5 million with an option to buy for £21.4 million.

3. Barcelona complete loan deal for Cancelo

Spanish giants Barcelona captured Portugal defender Joao Cancelo on loan from the Manchester City, with the deal running until June 2024.

4. Dutch player Gravenberch teams up with Liverpool

21-year-old midfielder Ryan Gravenberch joins Liverpool from Bayern Munich on a long-term contract.

The deal is worth £34.3 million and he has joined on a five-year contract.

5. Felix swaps Atlético for Barcelona on one-year loan contract

Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has signed a loan deal with Barcelona for the rest of the season. He also extended his Atlético contract by two years until 2029.
